Easter Song

Easter, Tulips, and Whidbey Island

The Easter Bunny came on Saturday leaving baskets full of Dollar Store items and a stuffed animals purchased at 75% off Valentine's clearance. The Easter Spider came too. We stole this idea from our Ward cousins. The spider leaves a tangled yarn path to a clue that leads to the Easter Basket. It was a lot of fun. Thanks, Ward cousins!

We then had a wonderful time at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival and Whidbey Island. We are so grateful the sun finally came out. It felt so good today!!!

Eggs and Sunshine

The sun came out! It has been so long since we have seen the sun. In fact, it snowed...a lot...just yesterday. The rain will be back Easter Sunday, but Friday and Saturday with sunshine AND temperatures FINALLY reaching 60 degrees is so exciting! I can handle rain if the sun would just come out once in awhile.

The sun was out today so we had to dye Easter Eggs outside (besides I didn't want dye on the carpet...) Our neighbor friends helped us dye the eggs.

Hiding and dying eggs didn't take long...the girls were too excited to ride their bikes in the sun. If you listen carefully, you will hear birds chirping in the video. I love birds. I love spring. I love sun. I love my girls!

The eggs were turned into deviled eggs so I could try out my new Pampered Chef egg holder thing.
The shells will be turned into "eggshell sidewalk chalk." Thank-you Rachel for bringing home a fun activity to try from school.

Nothing Like Flowers to Make a Home Lovely

I mentioned that we ought to get a flower basket or something to make our house look nicer for any potential buyer who happens to come looking at our house. The girls decided to decorate and surprise me. It was certainly a nice surprise! I think it looks lovely. I hope a potential buyer thinks so too! (Not that anybody ever looks at our house...)

I just have to say that not all of the dandelions were from my yard...probably most...but they did pick a bunch in the field across from our house.

Notice they are still wearing winter coats. It is still cold. I am so tired of cold and even more tired of rain! It isn't raining at the moment, but it rained earlier and the skies are gray. We're hoping for sun and warm temperatures by Saturday because we want to go see the tulips!

Rachel's Choir

Rachel sang with our school choir in a district choir performance. They did a great job! I especially enjoyed the last song sung by the combined choir (2 elementaries, middle school, and high school.)

Spring Break Waterfalls

We had a great time with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Becky, Mallory, Isaac, and little Oliver. We camped in a cabin at Silver Falls State Park in Oregon. It is so beautiful there. I love waterfalls and a hike with 10 waterfalls is definitely a favorite!! I especially love walking behind three of the falls. This was a great time of year to go because a lot of water was flowing over the falls. It was also very cold, rainy, and snowy. The precipitation didn't stop us from having fun.

After our adventures at Silver Falls, we went to 5 more waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge. I really think waterfalls are God's greatest creation. I really love them! This was a great trip for me:) The girls had a great time too. I hope everybody else did as well.

I'll upload a few pictures. If you want to see more, you'll have to watch the video at the end. The video isn't the final version. My family is still traveling home and will send me more pictures. I'll probably delete some of the scenery pictures and add more people pictures. I'll also add the last waterfall because it was too dark and my camera wouldn't take a picture as nicely as my father's camera. I will also add Gene Kelly's version of "Singin in the Rain" because YouTube wouldn't let me use the music because of copyright issues. We really need that song because it was our camping theme song:)

Conference

We spent conference Sunday singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (I wish I would have taken video...it was hilarious....)

Home Depot Kid's Project

Rachel doesn't want to take her flowers out of the plastic. Erin Joy decorated her planter with a sharpie marker. The girls wanted "inside" flower planters and are very excited to take care of their plants.
