Playing at a Water Park?

We went to a little splash park/playground with our neighbor friends and another friend's dog. The girls were so excited to go to a water park. The only one who actually played in the water park was our youngest neighbor friend. She had a great time in the water.
They did briefly enjoy the playground...


Except Rachel who was having too much fun with Tommy, the dog, to play...
They played for at least an hour in the dead grass and the ditch. I wondered why we just didn't go home and play in the dead grass in our lawn.
They moved from the dead grass to the stage. They didn't perform any shows, but I heard talk about princesses and knights as they played.

They NEVER played in the water park. I just made them pose to prove we were there:)

Even though Tommy didn't work very hard today, he had a great nap in the car on the way home.
We have had a lot of fun with Tommy this week!

Another Jetty Island Day

We have to do something fun everyday of summer and sometimes we repeat activities...like Jetty Island. We love Jetty Island so we have to go once a week:) We went again today with different friends. Here is another movie if you are really interested, or you can just look at a few of my favorite pictures.

Tommy

The girls have been taking care of our friend's dog, Tommy, while she is at work during the day. They are having a blast. They pray for the dog every night. Rachel has been begging me for a pet dog. Nope. We are a one cat family.

This movie is for my children. They love this song. They loved playing with Tommy at the river yesterday. They loved giving him a bath. They ended up in the tub with him.....

Pioneer Celebration

We had a great time at our church's pioneer day celebration Saturday. Here are pictures of just a few of the many activities:

Children's Museum

We had a great time at the Children's Museum with our neighbor friends. The girls enjoyed playing together at our house before we left for the museum. They spent quite awhile in the bathroom fixing their hair exactly the same so they could be "twins." The first few pictures are "twin" pictures and the rest from the Children's Museum.

Another Great Show

This is the first great show that my girls have actually prepared a program. Rachel made two programs...one for me and one for her to read from. She calls it a "menu." They still haven't performed all the songs on the list. There will be more great shows coming soon....

I have been so blessed to enjoy many "great shows" that my children prepare. Here is just a snippet of their latest show which took them hours of giggly preparation...

River Fun

I love summer. This is how we spent our afternoon yesterday....

Living across the street from a river has many advantages...playing here during the summer is the biggest advantage.
The water level is low enough that we were able to walk across and search for fossils. We have found a lot of fossils here, but we didn't find any yesterday.


My girls were very excited that our neighbors came to the beach too. They love playing with the neighbor girls.

Zoo Camp/VBS

We have had a very busy, but very fun week. While I attended a teacher workshop at the zoo, the girls attended zoo camp. It was more expensive than daycare, but more fun for the girls and more fun for me to have them close. We had to leave the house every morning by 6:30 which was hard to during our summer vacation.

After zoo camp, we ate a quick dinner (usually at a fast food restaurant, except Friday we treated ourselves to our favorite Chinese restaurant with our favorite hot and sour soup) and then rushed to Vacation Bible School. My girls have enjoyed going to VBS at their friend's church for several years now. They didn't want to miss it even though they were very tired after zoo camp. (I was more tired than they were...) They didn't get home until at least 9:00 every night and usually got to bed at 10:00 or later.

None of us were running on much sleep and by Friday we were all a little cranky. It is going to feel good to sleep in Saturday!

The first few pictures in the slideshow were pictures I took when I happened to see them wandering around the zoo. My workshop included feeding the giraffes so I asked for permission to get my girls from Zoo Camp to join my fellow teachers. I took too many pictures during the giraffe feeding and I couldn't decide which ones I like the best so I figured the slideshow is a good way to show the pictures.

The final pictures were taken with our yummy hot and sour soup. The last two pictures of the girls sleeping is how the car ride between Zoo Camp and VBS looked every day.

I didn't even take pictures of VBS. They had a wonderful time and we have been listening to the CD in the car for too many hours. The girls dance in their car seats with the music (when they aren't sleeping....)

Cataldo Mission and Coeur d'Alene Park

We stopped at the Old Mission in Cataldo because 2/3 of us had to go to the bathroom and I needed a break from driving after threatening to throw the swimming noodles out the window if I got hit in the back of the head by a noodle one more time!

We have stopped at the Old Mission in Cataldo several times, but this time was especially fun. There was a festival going on and the kids enjoyed the sno-cones and popcorn. I never realized the Indians asked the Jesuit priests to build a chapel here. I never realized the building was built by the Indians (designed by a Jesuit architect who also painted the beautiful pictures.) I learned all of this in the new visitor's center.

We stumbled upon this park while getting gas for our car in Coeur d'Alene. I thought it was a nice 9/11 tribute and the kids thought it was a fun place to play and a nice break from riding in the car so long.





Look who lost a tooth in the car while traveling!! She really lost the tooth and had to write a note to the tooth fairy.
