Pompeys Pillar (Montana)



We sure had to climb a lot of stairs. I wish Clark would have carved his name closer to the bottom.
The signature encased with glass is Clark's. Several people carved their names here and other famous people are noted with the plaques. It is now illegal to carve your name on this rock and there is a video camera used for surveillance preventing people from doing so.
William Clark carved his name in the rock...guess it's not considered graffiti if you become famous.
