Here are a few pictures from our fun Christmas Break with our family. We had a cousin pinewood derby. Thank-you Uncle Ted and Aunt Mellisa for helping Erin Joy and Rachel make their ladybug car and princess car. They love their cars and they had fun at the derby. We had a lot of fun playing at Grandma and Grandpa's cabin.
Here is a video of all of our adventures so far if you really want to watch it:

Rachel's Baptism
Rachel decided to be baptized in Idaho so all of her cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents could attend. She looks so beautiful in her white dress. She loved the beautiful flower bow that Aunt Carma made for her.
Thank-you Grandpa for baptizing her.
We tried to take a picture of all the cousins who attended the baptism, but it was hard. A few never made it into the picture and some kept coming in and out.

Snowflake Lane and Garden d'Lights
Last night, we enjoyed a matinee showing of The Princess and the Frog then watched the snowflake lane drummers and had fun in the fake snow. We then went to the Garden d'Lights at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens. I love the lights at the garden. They make flowers and animals out of lights. It isn't a huge light show, but it is spectacular.

Nutcracker
We had a lot of fun watching a performance of the Nutcracker with friends. Rachel was being grumpy and refused to be in this picture. The girls had fun playing at McDonalds in their fancy dresses after the show.
When we came home, the girls wanted to watch The Nutcracker on TV. It was hard to watch the show with Erin Joy dancing in front of the TV. I cross stitched and Rachel played on the computer while Erin Joy danced the entire time. Here is a brief sampling of how Erin Joy enjoyed the movie:

The Stockings Were Hung
FINALLY!!! I seriously starting cross stitching Rachel's stocking before I adopted her. It took me several years to finish. It took me even longer to finish Erin Joy's. I finally finished cross stitching earlier this year and my sister, who is a much better semstress than me, graciously turned them into stockings. Now Santa Claus can fill nice stockings instead of our previous cheap Dollar Store stockings. Santa will have to continue to fill my cheap Dollar Store stocking until I finish my stocking. It could be years....

Gingerbread Houses
Rachel was so excited about making a gingerbread house with her fourth grade buddy that she couldn't sleep the night before. We celebrated the last day of school for the year by wearing pajamas and making gingerbread houses. Fun times!

Notes From Erin Joy
Erin Joy has been writing notes and leaving them around the house. I love how she is starting to figure out that letters have sounds and use them properly. Before she has just written random letters to make stories.

First Snow
The girls had fun sledding yesterday in the few inches of snow that fell. I didn't have fun driving on the VERY icy roads. Just a little wet snow with our below freezing weather that we have had for the past couple of weeks, left our roads like an ice skating rink. Several cars were off the road. I decided to join them. I ended up in a ditch while trying to drive up a hill. After being towed to the top of the hill, I thought it would be fun to spin around and around and just about into another car that was abandoned while coming down the hill. It was very scary. Rachel screamed the entire time while Erin Joy and I prayed. We ended up walking the rest of the way home.

Picasso
Guess what this is? It is a reindeer. A rainbow reindeer to be exact. Erin Joy's teacher had all the students paint a rectangular brown body, a triangle head, and so forth. All the other children had nice brown reindeer with a cute little red nose. Not Erin Joy.

Piano and Party and Nativity, Oh My!
Instead of gifts, Rachel had her friends donate money to help a little boy needing heart surgery through Love Without Boundaries. You can see little Henry here and make a donation too if you'd like!

Happy Birthday, Rachel!!
Look who turned EIGHT years old! Sheesh....she's growing up too fast!Rachel enjoyed an ice cream pie for breakfast (she doesn't like cake). After school, we decorated the Christmas tree. We always do it on Rachel's birthday. It was a very full tree by the time the girls were done.
