Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ignore the violence, drinking, and bad language and I certainly don't mean to be making a political statement...well...maybe...

UPDATE: Well, I decided I had better delete that one. I thought it was funny, but when my kids watched it and asked me questions I didn't want to answer I felt I had to get rid of that inappropriate JibJab. I need to keep my blog rated "G" not only for my kids but for me too :) Sorry if you saw it and were offended.

If that one isn't to your liking, here is another. It's the same as last year except I didn't include myself this year. I added a couple of cousins and made Grandpa the lead dancer. (Last year, Tom Cruise was the lead dancer.)

Pink Pancakes

Pink pancake batter...

Testing the batter...

King Benjamin on his tower...

Our Family Home Evening lesson was given by Rachel. We love the book that Aunt Sue gave us full of ideas for lessons and refreshments. After Rachel taught us about King Benjamin, we made a pink pancake tower. The pancakes were actually pretty good. Adding a little strawberry jello mix to the pancake batter gave them a nice strawberry flavor. Pink pancakes are even better than green eggs.

Looking Like Christmas

I am still hopeful that spring will come...eventually...but when it snows 6 inches we just have to make the best of it and go sledding and build a snowman.

My Little Carpenters

The girls had a lot of fun constructing speedway tracks at Home Depot today. They are racing their little cars now and having a blast. We haven't gone to a Home Depot kid construction project in a long time. I was amazed at how much they could do independently this time. Nobody hit my finger or thumb with a hammer this time. Success!

Love My Girls!

We ended up at the Children's Museum again yesterday. I had to take the afternoon off of work to have a geo-tech look at the landslide...again....I'm tired of inspectors. My once beautiful view of a forested bank full of ferns, bleeding hearts, other flowers, and birds will soon be an eight foot retaining wall. Yuck. Very UGLY....

Anyway, the inspection didn't take long so I took the girls out of school early and we went to play. I entertained myself at the museum in my usual way by taking pictures of my girls playing. On the way home while they listened to Little Mermaid music, I listened to my IPod. I heard "Child of Mine" on my IPod and I thought of my beautiful girls and how quickly they are growing and changing. I am SO grateful that they are my daughters. I sure love them!

The first pictures in the little movie were taken yesterday at the museum and then I added a few from Saturday just so I could have enough to last through the first part of the song. Enjoy....

We Made it to the Top!

Erin Joy and I finally made it to the top of the hill while Rachel was at piano lessons. It was such a beautiful day yesterday. When the sun comes out, I forget about all the bad weather...too much snow, too much rain, flooding, and landslides seem like a distant memory as I look at the beautiful trees that I am surrounded by.

More Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebrating

The girls had a fun time at the public library listening to excepts from Dr. Seuss books, craft projects, and eating birthday cake.

Erin Joy didn't want to go because she didn't want a shot from the doctor. It's a good thing Rachel told her that "Doctor" was his first name and he wasn't a real doctor. I didn't bother to tell them that Dr. Seuss was a pen name. They can figure that out later...

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

We had to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday with green eggs and ham on Hercules plates! It's a tradition. We usually have hash browns too, but tater tots worked for us tonight. Rachel loves green eggs and ham, but she won't touch an egg any other time. Erin Joy loves eggs, but gagged and spit out her green eggs right after I took her picture.

Silly girls. I now know I should always put green food coloring in Rachel's eggs to make her eat them and leave Erin Joy's eggs yellow in order for her to eat them.

Pajama Dance

The girls were excited to get pajamas from their Great-Aunt LaRee. Erin Joy thought they were great for dancing. I think they're great because they are very big and warm. They will last a few years.

Children's Museum Take Two

I'm not happy that all the photos I uploaded to my "rock you" slideshow didn't appear.  Here are the same photos using slide.com.  I hope this one works...

Children's Museum Fun

It was a great day to play at the Children's Museum.
