We welcomed the lunar new year by celebrating with friends from our area. One of my friends rented a hall and we had a Chinese potluck (and one Alfy's pizza), crafts for the kids, acted out the story of Nian the dragon, and of course had our version of a lion dance and dragon dance.
The three girls on the right were all adopted on the same day from the same orphanage. I'm so grateful we live close enough to keep in touch. Isn't he so cute??
Erin Joy wasn't feeling well at all. She wouldn't eat anything, but did manage to decorate the sun in preparation of the dragon parade.
Popping bubble wrap (our version of firecrackers) to scare away the dragon, Nian.
Here comes the dragon...
A dragon pinata...not exactly Chinese tradition, but fun none the less!!

That looks like so much fun! We went out to get donuts yesterday, and chatted with the owner. She told us we should go celebrate (she had to work in her donut shop). You guys do such cool activities!
Great pictures Stacey! It sure was fun to see you and the girls. We look forward to the CNY party every year. Blessings in the year of the Tiger!
