Carkeek Park and Bellevue Botanical Garden d'Lights

There wasn't a cloud in the sky this morning so we just had to go to a park. It has been so cloudy and rainy lately that our little sun-break was wonderful. By the time we got to the park, the clouds had rolled in. The rain held off until we were leaving the botanical garden display. Perfect! (For today that is...tomorrow we are going to the zoo...could be a little wet...)

Here are a few Carkeek Park pictures followed by light pictures:

After Carkeek Park, we walked through the Bellevue Botanical Garden d'Lights display. It was really beautiful and fun. The kids really enjoyed it this year because they were given a scavenger hunt paper and had to find various animals. They began by finding the spider.
No garden in the Northwest would be complete without a slug! I love the trail of lights it leaves behind:)

There is a parrot on the branch...it is just hard to spot.
Monkey...

Alligator...
River... (the lights blinked and moved to make the river look like it was flowing...pretty cool)
Salmon jumping a waterfall...

"Don't stand so close," Rachel grumbles just as I take the picture. She then gets mad and stomps off.

"Rachel, get back there, be nice, and stand by your sister," I demand.
Erin Joy's feelings are now hurt. She won't smile.
"Please just stand there and pretend you love each other." That's as good as it gets....
