Easter is sure early this year. Somebody told me today that Easter won't be this early for another 200 years. (I have no idea if this is true...maybe I'll do a little research and find out...probably not...I don't really care...)
We have been to the yearly FCC (Families with Children from China) Easter Egg Hunt for several years and this is definitely the coldest and wettest it has been. I have a picture of Rachel when she was about 2 years old in shorts and wading in Lake Washington at an FCC Easter Egg Hunt years ago before Erin Joy joined our family.
The hunt today was very fast. Grab the eggs, throw them in the basket, and get out of the rain. This is the first year that neither girls was scared of the Easter Bunny. This is also the first year that both girls have had to hunt for eggs in the "big girl" section. Sheesh...they are growing so fast.
Notice Princess Rachel in her pink dress...I tried to convince her that it was cold and rainy and wearing a pretty pink dress was probably not the best choice for an Easter Egg hunt in the rain. I lost that battle. I love the pictures of Erin Joy with the basket on her head. She was trying to keep the rain off. I'm not sure why she didn't just put her hood on or why I didn't just put her hood on. Erin Joy played at McDonald's with a friend while Rachel went to dance class and I went to visit with our Great-Aunt who is currently not in good health. I'll have to blog about her too.
Anyway, here is a little slide show of our quick egg hunt:
Update: I just researched Easter. It hasn't been this early since 1913 and it won't be this early again for another 220 years. It is always the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox. Interesting. Too bad I bought sleeveless dresses for my girls. I always buy Halloween costumes, Easter dresses, and Christmas dresses a month or so after the holiday on clearance racks. I buy them a size big for the following year. I think their Easter dresses cost me about $5.00 each. They will have to wear their dresses with their winter coats this year :)

With easter so early, we haven't even had a chance to think get the easter fever...accompanied by all the fake grass and plastic eggs and candy. I can't say that I miss is though. It looks like you guys had fun in the rain!
