Miss Me, But Let Me Go

Aunt June's graveside services were yesterday. I will miss her, but I know she is happy and free now.

Many of the plants in my yard were starts taken from her beautiful yard. She loved gardening and her yard was gorgeous. I enjoyed walking with her as she talked about her many plants. When I see the little purple violets and other flowers blooming in my yard, I will think of her.

This poem was written on a bookmark made in her honor (I'm not sure of the author):

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room!
Why cry for a soul set free?!
Miss me a little but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone;
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to Home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart,
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me, but let me go.

So sorry about your Aunt's passing. That is a wonderful poem! I love that you have those beautiful flowers that will continually remind you of her.
