Happy Lunar New Year!

Chinese New Year is tomorrow.  We prepared ourselves by cleaning the house (just the inside..the outside is another story...), buying new clothes, and getting our hair cut.  Rachel refused to get her hair cut.  She also refused to wear a Chinese dress to the activities last night. She was more than willing to pick out new clothes though.  Erin Joy and I picked something off the clearance rack, but Rachel has expensive taste.  Her outfit cost more than Erin Joy's and mine combined.  Oh, well.  I didn't feel like insisting she buy something cheaper.  I have to pick and choose my battles with her.  I'm saving up for the big ones when she is a teenager so I didn't push the issue of the traditional hair cut and the traditional dress or the expensive new clothes.

We went to a celebration last night at the Westminster church.  It was a lot of fun.  We were especially excited to see some of our friends that we don't see often enough.  My former roommate and her husband live too far from us for frequent visits, but we enjoy seeing them when we get the chance.

The video I posted shows the girls participating in various activities, then ends with clips of the great performances we enjoyed.  Rachel and I enjoyed it...Erin Joy enjoyed running and jumping up the stairs with her friend.  I put it at the end of the video so Erin Joy can watch it because she missed most of it.

The year of the ox will be a great one...I'm just sure of it.

My sister, Erin, was born in the year of the ox...I wonder if she knows that...
