Erin Joy has been working hard on her Es again. As I prepared my classroom with the help of my children, Erin Joy helped me by writing Es all over my newly assembled bulletin boards, white board, and wall. She also autographed letters from my students last year to my students this coming year by putting a big "E" on student letters. This time she used a permanent marker. Luckily, I happen to have a bottle of fingernail polish remover on hand to take permanent ink off of the white board and other surfaces (I learned this from another teacher) and the marker came off the white board and walls. I refuse to redo my bulletin boards so my students and I will have to enjoy her Es all year long.
I was so mad at her. I made her sit on a chair in the corner. Once again she sobbed. I didn't have my camera and I was too mad to take any pictures anyway.
I'm so glad she has finally mastered one of the letters in her name. It has taken a lot of effort for her to reach this point. I just wish she would practice her skills on paper.
